About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Prosthetist to join our existing team at/in Nottingham.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Prosthetist to provide and promote a high standard of Prosthetic care and treatment across a range of amputation levels, both Upper and Lower extremity in our Nottingham branch.

As a prosthetist you will be required to act in a professional manner at all times to other members of the team, the patients and their families.

 
Your Responsibilties
  • Assess, measure, cast, fit, deliver, supply, review and adjust prosthesis as required across a range of amputation levels, both upper and lower extremity.
  • Cast and rectify models in a timely fashion using both traditional methods and CADCAM where appropriate.
  • Manage the patient’s case, including patient expectation, ensuring the individual’s needs are respected and ensuring the patient is informed throughout the process with clear explanations of proposed interventions.
  • Maintain good knowledge of available components and understand their function.
  • Work within the parameters of accepted "best practice" at all times. To ensure that all aspects of practice conform to clinical governance at all times.
  • Act as a resource for clinical cover for annual leave, sickness, planned absences or emergency cover where appropriate.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the most appropriate and effective treatment for patients.
  • Identify, in conjunction with the Branch Manager and other Prosthetic Staff, service developments and/or improvements to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Nottingham has a high case load of upper limb and paediatric patients, offering opportunities to build and develop skills in these areas.
