Are Steeper Accessible Technology installations compliant?
All products and installations provided by Steeper are tested and certified to the relevant standards. All of our engineers are also members for the Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA) and they receive regular extensive product training on every solution we provide.
How are automatic doors powered?
Steeper Automated door systems are powered by a regular mains power source and can be operated by a variety of switches/buttons like fobs or wall mounted buttons. Systems can also be backed up by a battery in the event of a power cut and can be operated manually.
Do Steeper Accessible door and window solutions work with Amazon Alexa and other smart home hubs?
Internal door openers, motorised window openers and automatic curtain and blind openers can be programmed to operate with Amazon Alexa and other smart home hubs such as Google Home. However, external doors cannot be used with Amazon Alexa. This is for safety and security reasons as anyone could operate this technology and gain access to your home.
Can my existing curtains be motorised?
Yes! We supply electric curtain tracks that are compatible with most existing furnishings. This means you don’t have to compromise your personal style to access the comforts offered by this technology.
