Streifeneder ContexGel Liners & Sleeves Undergo Design Review

The ContexGel Liners and Sleeves range by Streifeneder has been reviewed and their properties improved to optimise stability and comfort for the user. These changes include a new outer matrix on the ContexGel Sleeves in the distal and proximal area to eliminate longitudinal stretching of soft residual limb tissue, and an optimised knee design to reduce pinching at the joint. The ContexGel Liner range has also undergone changes, as they are now divided into three liner categories - basic, soft and soft+ - characterised by their posterior wall thickness.

The range still features the polymer gel infused with antibacterial medicinal white oils to nourish and restore stressed residual limb skin, and optimal viscoelasticity to ensure even pressure distribution in the socket and reduce shear forces.

Innovative knit technology has been incorporated throughout the range, including a circular knit design eliminating the need for lateral 'flat-lock' seams, which were often subject to excessive wear and therefore affecting durability. The liners and sleeves are manufactured using strong elastane yarns and high-quality polyamide, for a thicker finish ensuring the TPE gel does not pass through the knit.

Improved & enhanced ContexGel Sleeve features:

Conical shaped sleeve, constructed using 3mm of uniform ContexGel
Soft, abrasion-resistant textile cover which can be easily donned or doffed
Outer matrix to eliminate elongation in the distal and proximal area
Excellent circumferential elasticity to compensate for residual limb volume changes
Three months warranty

Improved & enhanced ContexGel Liner features:

Conical shaped liners, with a posterior wall thickness of 3mm, and a choice of 3mm, 6mm or 9mm anterior wall thickness
Ideal for users with a low to moderate activity level
Gel at the distal end is 2.5mm thicker for improved socket comfort
New soft silicone rotation caps
XXL liner sizing has been modified to allow for larger residual limb circumferences
Distal rotation control supports the user when guiding their reisdual limb into their prosthesis
Optional stabilising matrix to eliminate longitudinal stretching of soft residual limb tissue
