Steeper Hosts Naked Prosthetics Symposiums
On the 11th and 12th of September, Steeper hosted Naked Prosthetics Symposiums, who presented their innovative range of hand and digit technology to prosthetists, technicians and occupational therapists from across the UK.
Naked Prosthetics design and manufacture hard-wearing upper limb custom prosthesis for people with finger amputations. Designed to be robust for functionality, these devices allow users to take on more strenuous loadbearing tasks, help to restore length, replace DIP joints and protect sensitive residuum without compromising on quality or range of motion.
"The loss of one or more digits of the hand is the most common amputation level. Yet due to the lack of functional prescription options, this patient population has always been underserved and is rarely seen in prosthetics clinics. The Naked Prosthetics product range gives the clinician a high quality, bespoke, functional prosthesis to offer this complex patient population." - Brian McLaughlin Prosthetic Product Sales Manager
The team demonstrated the functionality of these ground-breaking devices providing delegates with the opportunity to see them in action, as well as how to identify suitable patients so functional outcomes can be achieved.
Overall the Symposiums were a huge success, with all of those who attended keen to put this into practice.
The Naked Prosthetics team were pleased with the events and enjoyed meeting their UK customer base: "One of our favourite pieces of the symposiums was meeting clinicians who had been following us for months, eager to provide our products to their patients. We share their excitement with being able to make these innovative solutions available to all clinicians across the United Kingdom through Steeper." - Drew Leininger, Director of International Business Development
