The 16-18th March saw Steeper exhibit at the annual BAPO Conference at Lancashire County Cricket Club. Attended by prosthetists, orthotists and students, the event consisted of educational lectures, graduate stories and guest speaker Alex Brooker.
The Steeper stand showcased the latest innovations in both upper and lower limb prosthetics, with the new S-Charge System making its UK exhibition debut. Also pictured on the stand was Paratriathlete, Stuart Meikle who wears the Kinegen Stream Knee, Accent IP Foot and RevoFit Lanyard.
As part of the national campaign to raise awareness, Friday’s programme was centred on Sepsis – namely what it is, how to spot the signs of infection and steps to take to ensure successful treatment. To understand more about Sepsis, click here to read Charlotte Hannibal’s story on how she overcame the infection and is now ‘rebuilding her image’ thanks to the Steeper Silicone Clinic.
The weekend event also saw many presentations and posters submitted by Steeper employees encompassing all aspects of the prosthetic and orthotic spectrum. From the new developmental project of the child’s play attachment to the latest developments within the treatment of Pectus Carinatum (pigeon chest) and a two-hour workshop by Steeper prosthetist, Lynzy Holding, on Silicone Bikini Socket Manufacture.
