The new centre is designed to reflect LPC’s commitment to comprehensive, person-centred care. It boasts three private, fully-equipped fitting rooms and a spacious rehabilitation suite where clients can trial new prosthetic limbs and engage in multidisciplinary treatments. Services include physiotherapy, psychotherapy, and musculoskeletal therapies, all under one roof, ensuring continuity of care and optimal outcomes for every client.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Lord Craig Mackinlay of Richborough, a quadruple amputee and client of LPC. In his speech, Lord Mackinlay praised the team for their dedication, stating: “The support provided here is extensive and personal. The team takes time to understand each individual’s needs in a friendly and professional setting. I’m excited to spend more time in this space.” Lord Mackinlay, who lost all four limbs following a severe case of sepsis, now advocates for improved services for all amputees, particularly those with multiple limb loss. He attends LPC for his upper limb prosthetic care.
A further standout feature of the new centre is its onsite manufacturing workshop, complete with a viewing gallery from the rehab suite. Visitors can observe skilled technicians crafting hyper-realistic, bespoke silicone prostheses, highlighting LPC’s blend of cutting-edge technology and artisanal craftsmanship.
