'I Was Such a Different Person.'
"In the past two years, a lot has changed," says Jade. "It does feel crazy looking back, I was such a different person to who I am today."
When we first filmed Jade in 2024, she had only recently received her Quattro knee and was still adjusting to life with it. Now, two years on, the transformation she describes is remarkable.
The proudest achievement Jade points to isn't a milestone you'd find on a rehabilitation chart. It's simpler and more profound than that: she lives on her own. She does everything herself.
"My proudest thing is gaining so much confidence and independence. I genuinely never thought I would get to that point."
Finding a New Passion.
Among the changes in Jade's life, one stands out in particular. She now goes to the gym six days a week, something she describes as her main passion right now, and something she never imagined would be part of her life again.
"I genuinely never thought that was going to happen," she says. "And I wouldn't even say I was really a gym-goer before I had my prosthesis. Now I go six days a week and I don't know how I ever didn't."
It’s exactly the kind of life-changing moment rehabilitation is meant to make possible, not just restoring function, but restoring independence and quality of life.
