How We Work With You

A high provision of support is often required within residential and care home settings, due to the variety of conditions and wide-ranging abilities of residents. Alongside this and as expectations for independent living grow, providing accessible technologies within such environments ensures that residents retain an appropriate level of independence and freedom, whilst simultaneously freeing up time for carers.

Over recent years, we have seen an increase in accessible technology being installed in residential homes, with all our clients highlighting how much more inclusive the home now feels - residents that would usually remain in their rooms due to mobility and access issues can now easily use all the facilities. Helping to understand the unique needs of both the management teams and the residents, our experienced engineers are able to determine the most appropriate solutions for each individual alongside advising on the most suitable way to configure systems for maximum long-term functionality.

As one of the most experienced independent providers, we have the capabilities and the skills to install and maintain large and complex installations, with every system built to the highest standard and conforming to current industry regulations. We also understand that individuals' needs are constantly evolving and as a consequence, all Steeper systems can be adapted as necessary to provide a bespoke solution to all our clients. With ever-evolving needs long-term aftercare is one of our specialities, therefore all our engineers are certified to the latest industry standards, enabling us to fully maintain all devices and systems for as long as possible. For small devices, we also provide a PAT testing service to ensure all portable appliances comply with the latest safety specifications.

Your Questions, Answered... Here are a few of our most frequently asked questions. If you' want more information about Steeper's Accessible Technology, contact our friendly team today!
Who can benefit from Accessible Technology?
Accessible Technology can improve the lives of disabled people with a range of abilities. Anybody who struggles with moderate to severe difficulty opening doors, turning on lights, cracking open a window, or opening the curtains can benefit from the freedom Steeper Accessible Technology can offer.
Are your engineers trained regularly?
All of our engineers are regularly trained on all products in our range. They are also members of the Automated Door Suppliers Assosiation (ADSA) so you can rest assured that you're getting the best service from the experts.
How long do automated door openers last?
Our automated door solutions come with an 18-month warranty and can be extended up to 5 years, but our installations are known to last much longer than this! And our friendly service doesn’t end there. From one-off service visits to yearly contracts, our engineers are fully qualified to ensure that our client’s doors are functional and safe for use year on year. We can also build in a maintenance and care package with your installation so you can get the most out of your installation.

Why should I take out a service plan?
All of our service plans will give you peace of mind knowing that our team of engineers and product specialists are at the end of the phone if you need extra support. You will also be informed when your product or device needs a maintenance check-up and crucially, should anything go wrong, then you will not have to pay for costly call-out charges and repairs. On average, environmental devices can have a lifespan of up to 10 years, with communication devices having a lifespan of up to 15 years (dependent on software updates) therefore long-term cover is recommended.

Depending on what plan you opt for, our service plans typically cover all maintenance and breakdown issues, complete with our 48-hour breakdown response call-back promise.
