Clinical Services Manager - Portsmouth

We currently have a vacancy for a motivated team player to join our company as a Clinical Services Manager working within our Orthotics branch in Portsmouth.

Portsmouth is a vibrant city that offers a wide variety of activities and some of the best weather in the country. Our Portsmouth service provides both Prosthetic and Orthotic care, and has its own Orthotic workshop on site where orthoses from insoles to KAFOs are manufactured. The Orthotic service is made up of two Orthotists, a Service Manager, 4 Administrators and a Technician.

Duties / Responsibilities:

As a CSM, you will be expected to take on a regular patient caseload together with an operational management role with other clinical staff reporting into the CSM position. We provide a fully managed service in Portsmouth and you will work closely with Steeper admin staff in our offices at St. Marys hospital. This well-established service is integrated within the NHS and the successful candidate will be expected to continue to develop working relationships with NHS colleagues.

The patient caseload will cover all areas of orthotics. Specialist paediatric services are delivered within community sites including schools and a newly designed Diabetes service now works to reduce limb loss.

The managerial role will involve working closely with Portsmouth Hospital NHS Trust to report outcome measures and help to promote and develop the service offered to our patients within the region. You will also report against KPIs for Steeper and the NHS.

In addition, you will:
  • Strengthen working links between Orthotic Service and Orthotic Production
  • Understand and promote the need to increase OPU within our existing clinic sites to meet budgets
  • Supporting Head of Clinical Services in keeping regular customer “face to face” meetings and contract reviews
  • Work with quality manager and senior production staff to resolve Clinical and Production differences

The above list is not exhaustive.

You will need excellent attention to detail, be able to work as an autonomous practitioner and manager, have a positive approach, attitude, and demonstrate that you are undertaking continuing professional development, filling your working day in a productive manner and promoting both Steeper and the fully managed service in Portsmouth to referrers and other health care professionals in and outside the region.
